One of the spaces in the leisure center Odysseus has been rewarded with obtaining a estrella Michelin in the 2021 edition of the prestigious guide, a concession that represents one more star for the region of Murcia, which with this sum already has four.
Opened in February 2020, shortly before the Covid-19 crisis broke out, the restaurants housed in this leisure center, three in total, operate under the direction of the renowned chef from Alicante. Nazario Cano, who currently offers its clients a rich and varied gastronomic offer every day.
The Michelin star achieved in the Gastronomic space, a space with capacity for 32 people and available from January 14, from Tuesday to Saturday, is a well-deserved recognition of the culinary work and excellent job carried out by Cano and his prestigious team of kitchen professionals, who had previously received another star in 2017 for his work at the helm of the El Rodat restaurant in Jávea.



The keys to this new success of Nazario Cano are to be found in the highly personal and intuitive nature of his cuisine, based on recipes and raw materials from the land, always of the highest quality, and with a great predominance of flavour in each and every one of the more than one hundred dishes that make up the restaurant's menu. In the development of his work at the helm of the stoves, this chef does not hesitate to make use of both his own personal sensitivity and creativity (clear signature cuisine) and the most traditional culinary techniques, such as smoking, salting or fumets, among others. A cuisine, in short, where tradition and innovation have been able to complement each other perfectly, which makes each visit to the restaurant a different and unique experience.
The gala in which this Michelin star was awarded took place last Monday, December 14 at the Real Casa de Correos in Madrid, although on this occasion, due to the security measures imposed by the coronavirus pandemic, it was held virtually. . The event was presented by actors Cayetana Guillén Cuervo and Miguel Ángel Muñoz, who had been finalists and winners, respectively, of the first edition of the television contest. Master Chef CelebrityThe moments of nervousness that preceded the announcement of the award finally turned into euphoria when the name of the Odiseo appeared on the screen among the winners. From the kitchen of the main restaurant and surrounded by a good part of his team of cooks and waiters, Cano thanked them all for their efforts to make this first Michelin star possible. Filled with satisfaction and with his eyes moist with emotion, he added that after this first star they would have to go for the second and then the third, which further raised the spirits of those present, who burst into cheers of joy for their boss.
This new award reaffirms the Odiseo as a clear example of what a comprehensive leisure concept is, where both the best culinary offering and the most varied entertainment are included, making this centre one of the greatest leisure references in Spain and, without a doubt, an exclusive place in the Mediterranean.
